BOYS CLUB PURPOSE:
To guide boys towards the saving grace of Jesus Christ through a fun three prong approach
A) Bible study 2) A project 3) gym time.
Our theme for the 2015-2016 school year is to do a quick overview of each of the books of the New Testament. As this is an overview of a subject that really takes a lifetime of study, we have only touched on the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of our Lord (from the Gospels & Acts). We have looked at the man named Paul who walked to Damascus, saw a great light and was totally changed. We walked with him through the next several books and looked at Paul’s teachings about our Savior, and about grace compared to the Law.
In our workshop time, we have been teaching the boys how to use tools. We have “hand’s on” time where the boys learn to use a screwdriver, hammer, plyers, ratchets, wrenches, tape measure, square, hand saw, drills, etc. Understanding and learning these skills will help these boys one day as they become men, and become able to do jobs not only around their own house, but to help others through the gift of “service” which in turn offers another way for them to witness the love of Christ.
The boys were thrilled to be able to each build a birdhouse by themselves (with a little help maybe J). They painted the birdhouse and brought it home just in time to give their parents a homemade Christmas present!
